@all:
@Shokhet You're edit's are perfect. Although, I don't understand why it wouldn't be under the tags "kashrut" and "eating". — NS23 8 mins ago
I dunno....it's just that my feeling is that the kashrut-kosher tag is more for the kosher-kitchen questions, and eating is more for questions about actually eating.... food might also make sense here. I'm actually relatively new here, so I'm no expert on this. If you feel that those tags belong, you can put them back. — Shokhet 39 secs ago
Thoughts?
This just in:
I understand, I'll just leave it like this, I might add food. — NS23 3 mins ago
Anyone have opinions on this? Are there (un)official rules for tagging kosher-food-eating questions?

I just got my Koren siddur. Never seen one before.

1:28 AM
@ablaze The font is nice. It's just a bit confusing that (at least in the Hebrew-English ones) the English is on the right side and the Hebrew on the left
I've gotten used to seeing it the other way

1:40 AM
@Daniel Yep, that’s where I got the idea.

@ablaze It's very common among English speakers in Israel
but they also have all-Hebrew editions which are also common in Israel
I'm not sure why it's more popular there than it is here

@Daniel I thought that was going to trip me up, but I actually found it much easier very quickly. Vastly prefer it. And yes, the typography is way better, and the layout is simpler but still useful. Only davened Ma’ariv with it so far, but I loved it. We’ll see how it goes in the morning. I couldn’t help but peek ahead to the Omer tonight, and I was bummed to see that it didn’t name the Sefirot like the Artscroll does.
But everything else so far is better for me, I think

@ablaze The useful thing is that it includes things that are done in Israel and not in Chu"l
Like birkat kohanim in daily shacharit
etc.

@Daniel Yeah, that’s cool. I’ll be interested to see how it shifts my perspective.

@ablaze Overall, it's not really that different from Artscroll

1:50 AM
Yeah, that’s what I’m expecting

2:07 AM
@ablaze Did anything ever come of this?

2:17 AM
@Daniel Sounds like it’s not a problem, but I haven’t written the post yet. Definitely intend to. The Koren’s much more photogenic, so it’s good that I waited.

In the middle of this is a good question, which is If relations outside of marriage illegal, why isn't the child born from this have the technical status of 'mamzer'? .....however, there is a lot of rambling and questions of opinion, so I'm very tempted to vote to close as "primarily opinion based" or even "unclear what you're asking" unless that's taken out. — Shokhet 1 min ago

@YeZ Watch out, now @Scimonster can vote to close!

@YeZ Thanks!
@Shokhet Yeah, and i already patrol the review queues... Or at least i try.

YeZ
@Scimonster Yeah, they aren't so populated here.
Thus my original confusion when I read about the robo-reviewer problem on SO.

@YeZ Shameless self promotion on a solution for roboreviewers: meta.stackexchange.com/questions/137784/…

Another proposal coming up on A51 that could use a professional advice disclaimer:
1
Q: How will we discourage people asking for, or giving, legal advice in Law?

Christian ConkleProposal: Law Even in the proposal phase, Law seems to be attracting questions of the form "Is it legal for me to...", "How can I..." and so forth. There are two different problems with questions seeking legal advice. First and most importantly, they pose the risk that either answerers or Stack...

Meanwhile, on Islam.SE:

Q: We need to set a standard for fatwa questions

goldPseudoThe issue of allowing fatwa questions on this site has been brought up before. The two most pertinent examples I recall are, Islam: Should requests for rulings and/or fatawa be permitted? A higher standard for “fatwa” questions? In summary, despite us explicitly not being a fatwa site, we do...

@IsaacMoses Following links from your answer there lead to my Meta MY comment in your name (i.e. not [necessarily] looking for extra upvotes ;-)
