@msh210 What I was saying was this: The question asked "what [to] do to reinvigorate ... keeping the torah and mitzvot." The purpose of the book is, according to the answer, to "explain how to improve our service to good, step by step." This is a description of the book that I don't believe anyone would argue, since it isn't just his opinion. The recommendation of the book is because that is its description.
(cont.) The "fact that reading the book is the good idea" is the answer, but the description was the proof. I mistyped above by saying that the content of Mesilas Yesharim doesn't need sources (it's been written, so there's nothing we can do about it). I mean it was the description of the book that doesn't need sources.

@DoubleAA Joel says that every answer on Mi Yodeya is a gem - surprisingly high in quality. However, the site is small and essentially not growing, for some reason. He expects, though, that growth is inevitable with such high-quality content.
