@HodofHod I say edit it yourself. That's where I think some kind of reputation for good edits should come into play (I understand the issues and reservations of the idea). There is no motivation for anyone to edit another answer, since they get nothing out of it.

1:52 AM
@Menachem Done.

2:04 AM
@HodofHod I see. Not something I'd considered. Sorry (in advance) about that. At least, you'll still be able to propose edits, but there'll be some delay and additional work for people with 2000+ to approve your (and other 500-1999+ people's) edits. I'm curious about what aspects of Mod Tools you currently use. In any event, if you really miss this stuff, you could consider running for ♦. :)
... since I expect that our first mod elections would come around the same time as the launch.

@HodofHod In the case you mentioned: Especially if you have a history with that user, I wouldn't mind seeing you answer it yourself (i.e. instead of riding on his rep). By definition an edit is a correction -- not an addition

@yydl True, but in this case I'd just be checking his sources and quoting them. Feels cheap.

I used to edit my college's newspaper. We had a similar policy. If the original article was really bad, we gave him a chance to resubmit. If not, we put in the editor as a coauthor
@HodofHod A bad answer is not an answer.

@yydl I suppose.......
@yydl I guess if I see it happen a lot, I'll move in that direction.

@HodofHod It does depend on the case, though. If the guys a new user, I generally put in some effort (see judaism.stackexchange.com/questions/10988/…) to sort of "show him the way" it should be done. Quality should be considered as important on as content on the site [and I'm probably not one to talk...]

@IsaacMoses Maybe I'll make 2000 soon. I made 1000 in 9 days, but I've kind of plateaued now. Anyone want to volunteer to help? ;-D

2:30 AM
@HodofHod If I'm not mistaken there are built-in systems that stop mass upvoting attempts...

@yydl Shucks! ;-) Although, I think that all the places I've seen that happen its always a dummy account that does the upvoting, not a well-established user. I imagine that before they knock you back a couple hundred rep, a moderator checks the situation. (In any event, I would never ask for dishonest upvoting, just honest opinions on my answers.)

@HodofHod Give it time. We'll all get there eventually

@yydl Yep. I hope everybody took my comments in jest, as they were intended.

2:53 AM
@IsaacMoses what was decided regarding meta.judaism.stackexchange.com/questions/441/…

@ShmuelBrill , @msh210 was nice enough to take upon himself administration of this feature. I think he'll probably publish the first challenge this coming Wednesday or Thursday

what is 2302272?

@ShmuelBrill Sorry, that was the reply to your message, but my comma made it not auto-render to your name. Fixed now.
... like most else here, weekly topic challenge developments will probably all be 100% public

15 hours later…
6:23 PM
@IsaacMoses That's my intent.
