So I typed adb backup -system, wear doesn't react, and when I run it, it says that and it hangs for a short while, then gives me control

That adb is outdated delete it (it's at C:/adb) and remove it from PATH. Then install the new one here: developer.android.com/studio/command-line/adb.html

Also, that form of adb takes a long time to install. Just warning ye.
