Qc6 might be a good move, or we can be dramatic and do Rxd7

3:51 AM
That would certainly be dramatic, but I have my doubts about how smart it is. If Qxd7 comes next, you've got the queen on the empty D, which seems dangerous to me.

4:01 AM
16 Qc6 Ra6
@Geobits It's also a loss in material - a rook for a knight.

Yeah, but I figured that part was a given. If it was for a big positional gain, I could see it being worth it. It looks to me like a material and positional loss.

Qc7 would be better than Qc6, I think.

I was looking at that one, but I'm unsure.

Could also do Qb5, but I think that leads to a loss of material. 15 Qb5 Nxc5 16 Qxe8 Rxe8. A queen and a bishop for a queen.
Well, White's 16th move could also be Qxc5.

I'm not sure I see black doing Nxc5 there.
Maybe...
Rb8 is another possibility for black at any rate.

4:14 AM
Oooh, true.

3 hours later…
7:06 AM
@Geobits You can always gain back the D-file with Rd1. Or just take back with Bxf8 first.
16. Rxd7 Qxd7 17. Bxf8 Kxf8 18. Rd1 and white is still up a pawn

5 hours later…
11:59 AM
I was thinking Qc6 with the threat of Qxa8 next.

2 hours later…
1:49 PM
@PhiNotPi But then ... Ra6 attacks the queen.

2 hours later…
3:44 PM
nevermind then, that's true

6 hours later…
10:04 PM
.....guys, I can't make the next move....

10:29 PM
Another possible sequence would be 16. Rxd7 Ra6 17. Qb8. Not sure what would happen after that.

@DLosc 17. ... Qxd7
Bad for White.
@DLosc Actually, if White did Rxd7, Black would follow up with Qxd7 because it's not attacked by any of White's other pieces.
Qxd7 or Bxd7, for that matter.
