@JadeVanadium: Apparently, NF has been formally verified to be consistent relative to Lean. While I find NF totally terrible, it is still highly interesting that such a weird type theory with type ambiguity causing crazy collapse of types has indeed been confirmed to be consistent relative to Lean's stratified type theory (which though impredicative doesn't have collapse).

It's looking like it's consistent relative to ZFC (and likely much weaker), though I still don't entirely understand Randall's proof. Some much cleverer people than me are fairly sure it works, though.
