I allowed my admiration for the way Fagen fulfilled his obligation as a Jewish man to never let the Holocaust be forgotten by writing a warning against fascism and disguising it beneath a chilled blues shuffle, to override the requirement for a succinct and not lyric-heavy answer.

My concern was that it doesn't answer the "What is it about the chord progression that gives the feel" question. Can you look at developing your post with that in mind?
