Maxim ZaslavskyToday, on the SE blog, per-site community promotions ads were announced. I haven't found a post related to them on this meta yet, and the blog post said: (If your site does not yet have a community promotion post on its meta, contact me to request one, or simply post a meta request ask...

Q: Community Promotion Ads - 2H 2011

DoriWhat in the Wide, Wide World of Sports is Going On Here? TL;DR -- put images and links in the answers. If they get voted up enough, they will appear on the main site as community promotion ads. But whyyyyyyy? This is a method for the community to control what gets promoted to visitors on the s...

Q: Potentially redundant: construction / lutherie

ogerardI think most of the times, these two terms are redundant in music. Perhaps one could make one the synonym of the other. Your opinion?

Q: Boiling used guitar / bass strings - is it worthwhile?

phoibosI've read that some people boil their strings from time to time to make them sound again like they were new (and save some money). Is this really worthwhile, or are the any disadvantages?

Q: Internal links from guitars.se are broken.

DRLHi i have just noticed that internal links (linked questions) from guitars.se are broken after the merge - are these in the process of being fixed or is it a case of going through the answers and fixing them manually. Case in point - questions formally linked to this question: Any advice for a ...

Q: Flat-wound vs round-wound strings

user393What difference can you expect when playing with flat-wound vs round-wound strings on an electric bass/guitar? I know that they feel different - I am asking explicitly in terms of sound.

Q: How to maximize band rehearsal time?

Gustavo MoriSo, I've been playing in bands for a while now, sometimes with people who have PhDs in music performance, sometimes with people who only play by ear. Regardless of the level of professionalism, I have noticed that there's always a tendency to get songs to the 'good enough' state, and move on. Bu...

Q: Bug: "Migrated from guitars" link goes to Guitars, which redirects to the wrong Music question

Matthew ReadThe link that appears below each imported question does bad things. For example, look at this imported question: What's the difference between the "smooth" strings and the "rough" strings? The guitars.stackexchange.com link goes to this address: http://guitars.stackex...

Q: The "physics" tag is unclear and inconsistent

Matthew ReadI find the physics tag very unclear on a site like this. It's been used on questions about physical aspects like bow length, a couple physiology questions, and several questions about sound such as this one. With such breadth, it's useless. I also think regardless of how it could be narrowed, ...

Q: How far “off” can a piano unison be and still be considered “in-tune”?

jbmI'm talking about either beats per second of a resulting beat between two strings in the midrange of the piano. My piano seems to vary during different parts of the day, I think because of the temperature variation in the room where it sits.
