@DJMcMayhem you wouldn't need to do a sort by occurences, you could just go through the list checking whether a held value is greater or less than a new value, and taking the new value if its greater
like a single pass of bubble sort
also, i wonder whether you have to consider bi-modal data
or trimodal, for that matter
