Assuming I even had a solution in the first place, getting it down to 4 is simple enough by just inserting <><> wherever possible.
I'm not even sure if something as simple as (({})) can be reduced to a score of 3 with just brackets.

How would you get a score of 2?
If you could put <><> between every character, your score would be 3. Unfortunately, that doesn't work for nilads, and I don't see a workaround for {} in particular with just brackets.

Obviously, putting two spaces between every character would work just fine for the actual challenge.

All right, it is possible to mechanically change any Brain-Flak program to a braces-only program that scores 3.
Any attempt at a score 2 braces-only program is probably doomed to failure.
