6:27 AM
Not a Blog is moving to a new location
Also, apparently, Robert's hammer is an appropriate thumbnail for "Valyrian Steel Swords" available.
That's on George's official website!

JAD
hammer wasn't valyrian steel was it?
btw, loving the Dunk and Egg stories
Just started Mystery Knight
I really like the small personal scale of it

7:23 AM
@TheLethalCarrot I'm here I'm here I'm here!!!
@JAD You're going to meet Rohanne Webber!!!!??!?!?!?!?!?!?!
She's my favourite character in the whole of planetos!

JAD
already passed her
mystery knight is the third story
but yeah, I really enjoyed her character
(secretly shipping Dunk and Rohanne)

Ah, maybe I should re-read
You seem to have misspelt Ed there

JAD
lol

Who starred that this is the GoT chatroom?! This is the ASOIAF chatroom

JAD
treason!
HEADS
SPIKES
NOW!

7:34 AM
@JAD Did you know that she's Tywin Lannister's Grandmother?
@JAD The Mystery Knight is great. It goes like this. The Hedge Knight > The Mystery Knight > The Sworn Sword (Sorry Ed)

JAD
huh, in my book the mystery knight is the third story :S

@JAD It is the third. I am sorting them by order of how great they are

JAD
ah

Also, I was not going to ask it but it is driving me crazy, that pic, is it Amsterdam or is the Netherlands just full of canals?

JAD
that's a pond
most older cities have canals, though not as extensive as Amsterdam's

7:46 AM
Oh

JAD
a lot of the western Netherlands is below sea-level. So there is a lot of infrastructure towards transporting water towards places where it can be pumped up into rivers and such
which means that there is a lot of open water, and also a lot of dutch words for different kinds (canals, ditches, ponds, etc) that I wouldn't know a suitable translation for.

@JAD No but the company that makes the replicas is called Valyrian Steel

JAD
ah

And they are pretty damn good too
I have the show version of Longclaw at home, it's pretty awesome

8:09 AM
@Aegon BLASPHEMY!

2 hours later…
JAD
10:39 AM
uh, but he was there?

Been a while since I watched the first season (I know he's there in the books) but I just found it funny
I'm not 100% if he was there in the show though

JAD
might be yeah

JON: Lady Stark thought it might insult the royal family to seat a bastard in their midst.
Yeah I don't think he was invited in the show
In the books he's not invited into the main tables either so still sort of fits

10:56 AM
I'm pretty sure he was just in the crowd

The first scene with Jon after the haircut is when he's out in the courtyard according to the transcript
Without re-watching I'm still sure he was never shown to be in the feast

JAD
well, if it isn't in the transcript, that just means he didn't have any lines, doesn't it?

Well it's annotated so it gives some information about what is shown in the scenes

JAD
fair enough

According to this playlist he wasn't shown in the feast either
Part 3 is the feast part too

JAD
11:04 AM
honestly, I don't care enough and don't think it matters enough to start bickering over some silly meme

Sounds to me like a new question

Not bickering I was genuinely interested when you brought it up
Bring on the [adaptation-comparison]

JAD
sorry, poor wording.
@Edlothiad sure, whatever you need to get through this GoT dryspell

Go on then Ed ask it, you know you want to :P

NAh

11:14 AM
Boooo
Interestingly Jon later tells Melisandre that he would sit on the benches at feasts so it would appear it was only the Baratheon visit when he wasn't allowed in to the feast at all
JON SNOW: When we had feasts, our family would sit up here… and I’d sit down there.
So either he just wasn't shown in the feast on the benches or for some reason they didn't want Jon in the feast
There's also this quote of Cersei about the visit and Jon which could imply they were going to extra lengths than normal to keep Jon out of the way
"I glimpsed him once at Winterfell," the queen said, "though the Starks did their best to hide him. He looks very like his father."
Whether this is Cat cos she doesn't want him around or Ned to keep him safe we won't know
I'll stop looking now, though if the question was asked I can make quite a fan theory out of it :P

12:16 PM
@JAD He wasn't there in the show. In the books, he was present although with the retainers and servants.

Aye that's pretty much what I summed up
Though I went the long way around :P

@TheLethalCarrot I am reading..... You know I start replying before going all the way down

@Aegon are we sure he wasn't there, or was he just not in the angle of the camera?

Oh that's pretty much it

i mean, was it explicit that he wasn't there?

12:17 PM
@Kepotx No he wasn't. He was outside swinging his sword
When he met Tyrion

I always read first and reply after cos when I reply it moves the conversation to the newest and I have to scroll back up

He was pretty pissed and IIRC, thats because he was not allowed inside

He was a bit pissed for being left out and then more pissed when Tyrion talks to him cos he calls him Ned's bastard

Aeg is feisty today

@Edlothiad Huh how

12:21 PM
5 dot ellipses instead of 3, 2 dots feistier than usual

Is that how we measure feistiness? Number of ellipses dots?

@Edlothiad You got me.
@TheLethalCarrot What about question marks?????

Overuse of punctuation
If I'm saying I'm reading!!!!!!!!!!!! As opposed to reading! Ya know tings up

@Aegon Measurement of how crap the question is or how important it is. You decide after reading the rest of the question and gaining context

4 hours later…
3:57 PM
Today is GoT's birthday?

Que?

r/Freefolks says it's GoT's birthday

TIL

I assume that's what freefolk are on about anyway

4:25 PM
Probably, although having started at S5 I had no idea when it actually first aired

Me neither but I've googled it a few times before so I knew it was sometime in April haha
