Q: Why are castle gates in GoT generally double doors?

JediThe gates of Dragonstone have two doors (GoT Season 7 Episode 1). Why? Wouldn't a gate be stronger if it had a single door, even if it were to open inwards (harder to ram open using the principle of moments, since aiming a battering ram at the edge would now be much harder). The only reasons ...

@Möoz here's something to stew on... why are there chains in citadel library.... the books don't seemed to be hooked to them? (Like mideval libraries did irl)

@Skooba ahh mon ami. 'tis to hold the shelves up. They look like they're retractable, or maybe can be lowered or lifted depending on what shelf you want to get ay.

@NapoleonWilson The "little girl" in your message made me look. Holy crap! Maisie Williams is 20! (b April 1997). Wow, she has also cracked the IMDb top 500 actors.
@steelershark Still clarifying: Oberyn and the woman who screamed when he died (Ellaria) aren't married. That's why their daughters are "Sands" (the Dorne bastard name).

I just watched Season 7, episode 1 again. David Bradley deserves an Emmy. He was absolutely believable as Arya wearing Frey's face. He smiled like Arya!

3:56 AM
@Möoz hmm I'll to look closer. At first glance they look like they just hang there.

4:43 AM
@Jolenealaska Correct. She's his "Paramour", whatever that means.
@Skooba The other option is that they're some sort of safety mechanism. Perhaps one can 'lock' the books in place using dem chainz.

Q: Varys and Vision / Voice from Flames

Deepak KamatPossible spoilers for Season 7 Episode 1. Visions from the flames happen to be a very significant part of the Game of Thrones series, it is mysterious and we do not know whether it is the truth or not. In the latest episode (S07E01) we for the first time actually heard someone repeating what t...

Q: Would Walder Frey have acted another way if Robb kept his promise?

sh5164In S03E09, He says it's because Robb Stark didn't keep his promise of marrying one of his daughter. But seeing how ruthless and cruel the character is, wouldn't he have done what he did anyway? I would prefer to have a answer based on the show, but if only the books answer properly I will acc...

Q: What gift Euron Greyjoy's is planning to give her?

ashveliIn Game of Thrones S07E01, during the conversation between Euron & Cercei, Euron promises that he'll get a surprising gift to the queen to impress & marry her. What is the gift he is planning? I'm assuming that it might be Daenery's head but that alone won't stop the rebellion right?

Q: Which Three kingdom Jamie referred in this dialogue?

Ankit SharmaIn Game of Thrones S07E01, Cersei and Jamie had a discussion in the start, with this dialogue: I am the Queen of the Seven Kingdoms.” – Cersei Well, three at best.” – Jamie What three kingdom did Jamie consider in this dialogue to be still under Cersei's control?

Poor Ed Sheeran deleted his twitter account following abuse by GoT fans.

@Aegon UGH I am starting to really detest Twitter. I don't know Ed Sheeran from Lady Gaga except from the recent GoT episode, but that's just mean bullying.

@Jolenealaska I haven't heard any of his music (Even tho his Shape of you went viral hit and his Glastonbury performance was pretty much in news) but yes it is just bullying. He just said a few lines as a minor role (Was it a role?) and people hate him for it
Not to mention, it was mostly done out of the Showrunners' decision to surprise Maisie who's a huge fan of Sheeran. Its not like he just forced his way in or anything.

What a shame.
I liked the scene, the song was beautiful.

Q: Is Daenerys dragons are the only dragons in the seven kingdoms?

MouradFrom the begining of Game of Thrones til now, we have only seen 3 dragons, is there a chance to see other and bigger ones?

I would like to see Masie stand up for the singer.
Don't you make me put you on my list!

Q: Why are the Westerosi soldiers seen in small groups?

Matthew StevensonThere have been times in the show where we have seen soldiers, particularly Lannister soldiers travelling in small groups through the Riverlands. One example of this is when Polliver and five other men were in an inn where they encountered the Hound and Arya. A more recent example comes from the ...

Q: (S07E01) Who is the third man that Sandor Clegane is referring to?

FlaterMinor Season 7 Episode 1 spoilers, beware! He then follow...

soooo bran being in the cave broke the magic and let the WW in... now that he has crossed the wall, has he borked that magic too?

@Skooba depends on whether he still has the mark on him or not
I doubt the mark is permanent

@Aegon but what about the pop in the fire when Sandor saw Eastwatch!! :O

Not to mention, WW are marching towards East Watch, probably seeking to cross the bay of seals
And overwhelm the castle by two prong attack
Heh I was just getting to that
If the mark was permanent, NK would have known it. And he would have known the location of Bran. And once he became aware that bran was across the wall, he could cross it from any point he wanted, instead of going all the way to East Watch

2:29 PM
fair point
but even without magic the wall is a physical barrier... still makes sense to go around the end.

@Skooba Physical barrier for a guy who can cause fissures in ground, break steel with his mere touch and bring dead back to life? :P

but if you get a rock dropped on yo head....
i dont think even the NK is invincible to physical damage
if he was, why always hang back.... why need such a large army

2:50 PM
He could just stand far enough and use his tremors superpower to break the wall outside the range of catapults on the Wall.
As for physical damage, At least in the Book they are invincible. At least as per Mel
The need for an Army is a good point, food for thought for the show runners. Guess it just makes a better story than "mmhm Winter has come? And a dozen white ice-dudes are coming our way?"

thats what always get with immortal creatures... why does NK want all those wights? for the small talk? Screw that, just kill all the humans and chill with your top 10 dudes.

Haha well I am off for the day. Pity there weren't as much questions as I was expecting. Happy hunting!

Thanks man, See you later. I'm sure as the season roles on it will get better

Q: Dragons and Zombie Dragons in GOT

An old man in the sea.Can the Night King, and his folk, control dragons? and must the dragons be dead? I've just seen this picture, and in the last episode of GOT, we also see giants in their hords...

@Aegon That's true, the Hightower is supposed to be at least as tall as the Wall right?
@Skooba I prefer "The Raven", has real in-universe meaning.
@Aegon Voldemort can still be summoned though right?
@Aegon Maybe it's not a need per se. Maybe they're just "freeing" the people?
@Skooba Bahaha, if you concentrate, in one of the roll-over things at the bottom, they discuss "Nest Neutrality: Should Ravens fly the same speed?". I'm dead!
