Q: How do you know if the application you built is really useful to users before investing too much money in the process?

Can somebody explane to me how to do a survey to know the needs of potential users? Do you have always the time and the money to do so? I kinda feel bad for Roger spending time writing an answer to that grad student on ethical issues by the question was obviously off-topic.

Q: How can I convey the results of UX research to stakeholders?

How can I go about getting stakeholders to understand and "buy into" the results derived from UX research? For example, I ran across this great UX research plan by a Google UX researcher today.
