The development of perceived difficulty of AGI has shown me that I'm not the only one whose perceived knowledge of a subject moves from 10% to 90% before dropping to 5%, moving to 45% before dropping to 2%... as I learn more about the subject.
Arthur was probably right when writing 2001 A Space Odyssey; by the time AGI actually works (if ever!) computers will likely be small enough for HAL to fit in a (relatively) small spaceship.
