Q: My Puzzling Girlfriend

Hugh MeyersSo it's my birthday yesterday and my girlfriend comes over. We're kidding around and I asked her if she'd gotten me something good. She said: "Oh, yeah! Big time!" Well, of course I wanted to know what it was. She went over to my computer, typed in a url and saved it to my favorites. "I'm goi...

She didn't tell you how many digits it is? Or am I inferring the number thing incorrectly?

@Raystafarian Dude! Where were you when I needed you? I wish I'd asked her the number of digits. Then maybe I wouldn't have wasted my first two tries!

Well just to start the conversation I thought data scrubbing. There are 31 digits which is prime (and cannot be broken into equal parts). The first 13 digits make up 4 prime numbers (19, 11, 947, 8069), but it falls apart there (also it ends in an even number). I thought maybe 0 was a space, but there's a 00 so I couldn't go further than that. Then I thought about magic erasers and got side tracked.

Do you have anything in the medicine cabinet when it comes do scrubs/facial wipes or something like that? Maybe the numbers can be found on the packaging.

I have a pack that says 60 wipes and 100% cotton. You think it's 60100? Or 10060? There's also a bar code number and the postal code of the place in France that makes them.

My first hunch was that subsequences of the 35 digit string would turn up on things you own labeled "exfoliating"/scrub/wipe etc. If, e.g., you had the digit string xy, where x,y are strings, on a product and x was a substring on the paper you could substitute x for y.

I so hate puzzles without a solution!
Well, post the url here. Then you have a potentially infinite number of "intelligent" retries!

@HughMeyers Is it possible that you've been hanging out the side of your girlfriend's best friend's ride, trying to holler at her?

After two days of waiting, she's probably left you for someone else.

@ChrisCudmore Thanks for the help on that. All I need is one little genius idea!

Why she seemed very sure about the number of digits? " 8 of course"
when was your birthday ? it can be your birthday ( composed of 8 digits) or something related to your birthday combined with the series of numbers she gave you.

@RimaHajou It should be April 10, as the question was asked on April 11 and begins with "So it's my birthday yesterday".

@RimaHajou My birthday was a week ago, on the 4th. I posted about a week ago and added the update today. Sorry if it's confusing. You could be right about the password. I see some 4s in the number! I have to be sure though. Maybe it's our anniversary. Damn. I can't remember when that was. Thanks again!

@HughMeyers Yes I know that it was a week ago, just to I want to be sure if it was on 4th or 3rd (time difference between countries), anw Happy belated birthdya. So when was your anniversary? Provite us when you remember ;)
@HughMeyers and your year if birth if you can :)

@HughMeyers Additionally please provide the name of your first pet, the city in which you attended elementary school, the name of the street you grew up on, and your mother's maiden name.

Ok. I'll get on it. BTW in case it helps, my Visa card number is 3141 5926 5358 9792.

@HughMeyers See now I know you're messing with me because Visa numbers start with a 4.

I think it has something to do with 'cleaning' (perhaps filtering) the number based on all the hints given: scrub, slob, wipe, dab, cleanser, new socks. What that's supposed to mean however, I have no idea. But perhaps someone else knows what to do with it. Or you really are a slob irl and the words mean exactly what they say. ;p

@KevinCruijssen I've been working that angle since this was posted, to no avail

@HughMeyers did you get the visa card while eating a pie? :D
@question_asker I think it has something to do with audio/tapes. Cleaning/wiping/scrubbing audio tapes? Also the hint with "You dont listen to me"

@stackErr Oh wow, that's an interesting angle I hadn't considered!

As long as people get off my case with this cleaning thing. I'm not a slob! Honest!

SGR
@stackErr Dab could be D.A.B: Digital Audio Broadcasting

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SLOB does this sound any bell to anyone?

@Aleeeeee could be useful but then I think it would be too restrictive since its Linux only.
@HughMeyers can I edit this to make it easier to read? I wanted to group the conversations so its easier to follow who says what. As it stands it distracts the reader from the puzzle since they need to figure out who said what. I won't change any of the wording.

@stackErr You mean adding "he said" and "she said"? That sounds ok.
