Ah. Possibly. I don’t use spotlight (launchbar fiend) and long ago I ran a command to get it to not index (back when indexing made my laptop very hot and fan very loud) I think that was many OS updates back and probably a couple computers ago, but maybe that has survived via time machine backups.

I’ll look in the system prefs when I get a chance. Maybe I just unchecked photos and don’t remember.

I’m LaunchBar all the way - it can get slow when spotlight itself is slow under the hood which is my guess - you have some corrupt file that mds / mdimport is chewing on constantly instead of finishing the job to prepare the thumbnail database that the media browser needs. I think you’re slow and need a rebuild, just not sure how to effect that
