@nohillside: Not to be argumentative, but I would like to understand your thinking on why my comment re anonymous downvoting was irrelevant. I see clearly that it was irrelevant to the question that was asked, but the OP did make a comment on the same subject.

I agree that a downvote alone doesn‘t really help to improve the question, and comments are usually better in such cases. But pointing this out in comments (especially with terms like honesty) doesn’t help IMHO

@nohillside: Point taken. But the statement is straight from this site's "Help" section. In this case the OP bemoaned the the anonymous downvote. My comment was made because a) I think raising awareness of the "honesty" standard is a good thing, and b) my sympathy which of course results from my own experience with this.

But you're a moderator, and have better visibility on this than I. If you feel that it's inappropriate to call out behavior that's contrary to stated standards, then I'll accept that, and won't debate the point further.
