@nohillside I usually frequent science and technical sites, and this site being specific to a single company's products will feel a little different to me.
But I'm getting just a small sense that some comments are more about saying "Apple is good" than "what you want to do is valid, even though it's different than how Apple hopes you'll do it".
Closing my new question in deference to a three-year-old unanswered question makes it less visible and less likely to be seen. Perhaps consider closing the other one instead and re-open mine so that it sits higher in the active queue?

@uhoh Your question stayed on the front page even when put on hold, with a link to the original one. So anybody stumbling across it in the next few hours will easily be able to access both questions and post an answer (if there is any).
But if you look at igeeksblog.com/… the only way to influence this is due to issues on the sender's side. This won't help you if the recipient isn't connected to the internet.

Unfortunately I can't read that article, it keeps doing this to me. Apparently the ads that show on that page in this part of the world are maladvertising to me @@ I'll try to look at it again later.
In the mean time I'm getting the general idea the that answer is no I can't do what I'd like to do. Thank you for your persistence!

@uhoh You got two answers on the original questions so far :-)

@uhoh Hey - that’s just not how the site works. When a hold or closure happens, the main question can and should get bounty or edits if needed to update things - it’s a good thing to have 5 or so newer questions with different wording so that whenever people search for a topic - they find the hold/duplicate and then get directed to the best post to host the answers
