Since Mojave beta, I've seen network slowdown on the one Mac here that can use it [which means I can't run any proper comparison]. I'm getting approx 11MB/s [90mbps] ish on internal or external transfers. Speedtest agrees with this 90mbps, on a line rated at 200 & which I can repeatedly achieve on any of the other machines here - consecutive tests on 2 machines i.stack.imgur.com/KSeHL.png
This makes me think it's "this machine" in some way, shape or form.. but I can't figure out how to start to analyse it. I'd make it a question, but it just seems a bit vague. Any clues where to start? or even 'how to turn it into a proper question'?
This is all on gigabit Ethernet, btw, so I ought to be able to get something closer to 100MB/s on an internal transfer [give or take drive speeds]

meh... change ethernet port, get full speed :/ I'd already cleaned everything, no clue why that would be so.

Q: Gray globe (earth) appears after restart for no apparent reason - might something be wrong?

The first time was immediately a...

Has anyone else had this problem and would have something further to share? The current answer is unsourced, I have no idea if it's right or wrong so I won't be accepting it in its current state.

Best guesses...1) Very few people are still running 10.8 so have no comparison. 2) could possibly be a slow pinup on the drive, causing it to hunt for a net boot solution before the drive spins up [total guesswork]

in the US many estimates put iOS higher percentage wise then Android
other countries matter for sure but we definitely have some spending power/influence
worldwide android is much more popular though
