I have found my USB floppy drive, and my old iPod Shuffle. Time to make me a Fusion Drive!

RETRO MAN!

And for my next trick, I will be combining an old Airport Express, a USB hub and a load of old memory sticks to create a roll your own NAS!

jrg
i did that.

Wow, did it work?
How many bootable partitions can I make on a Fat32 USB drive?
I just got hold of a couple of 8Gb sticks, intend to make a windows xp/7/8 multi installer boot drive, and another for SL/L/ML

jrg
let me backtrack.
i did that, with a netbook.
and then tried to migrate to the Airport express
and it kind of failed.
although on a fat32 usb drive, you can have as many as you need.
so 4, and then almost infinite logical partitions.

Cool, 4 bootable is plenty. I still have licensed Dos 6.22, Win 3.11 and Win 98, might try for an all-in windows installer stick :)
Not Vista tho....

@stuffe Address your registration card to Sinofsky - future head of windows development. That guy looks like he'll be a softie for 20 or more years.

Q: Good Keyboard guard for 15" Mac Book Pro with Retina display

garikapatiGot a new 15" rMBP for a friend and looking for a good keyboard guard/ cover. I have Moshi ClearGuard for my 2009 15" MBP. Not sure the same one should I use for the rMBP or thinking someone would recommend something specific to Retina one.

@garikapati No - but that question will need some cleanup to meet the "no shopping" criteria.
Would you mind if I edited it to have an actual on-topic question.

@bmike sure go ahead
@bmike I don't think it's an 100% off-topic
but as you are admin, closed it... no choice now

@garikapati I just get a binding vote - if I'm wrong, people can (and should) flag or ask on meta to see if enough people want to re-open the question. Closing is just a temporary state to get things clarified - not some horrible thing that isn't reversible by votes of normal users with enough reputation on the site.
@garikapati Take a look at the edits I made. Do you see how I sidestepped the "make me a hardware recommendation" and instead focused on the information you'll need to make a good buying decision?
The former is often so tied to your timeframe, limited time to buy, limited subset of people you consider buying from, cost considerations (which vary wildly over time and over geographical locations).
However, asking will accessory X work with machine Y is universal and unlikely to be localized and likely to help others - even if they go shopping in the end with the knowledge they got.

Q: Is the Keyboard on the 15" Mac Book Pro with Retina display different than others in size?

garikapatiI just got a new 15" Retina MacBook Pro (rMBP) for a friend and looking for a good keyboard guard/ cover. I know shopping questions are off topic, but I'm wondering if the sizing is something that differers between Mac models. I have Moshi ClearGuard for my 2009 15" MBP. Would that work for the ...
