Q: Upgrade the hdd in the new mid 2011 iMac without buying an Apple certified hdd?

Steve MoserIt has been recently discovered that Apple uses a new 7 pin hdd connection in their mid 2011 iMacs. When an none Apple certified hdd is installed the fans kick on during boot and system fails to start. Is a way to override the check for an Apple certified hdd either through a software(ktext?) or ...

it's not an immediate thing, looks like it kicked in about 3 minutes after you asked.
cool, I also toggled my accept so I don't know if that did it. I'll be more patient next time.

heh
yeah SE is huge, cant do everything all at once
True, I guess it was the first time I did something badge worthy actively and instantly instead of waiting for someone else.
I'm assuming you're talking about autobiographer?

Scholar, although I guess I do have the autobiographer, can't remember if I got it instantly or now. I'm pretty sure it showed instantly after a refresh.
Also my Gravatar doesn't work. Has anyone else had issues with it? I set it up but it doesn't register here. I haven't tested it with any other site though.
@SteveMoser sometimes it takes a little while for Gravatar's cache to reflect an update
just make sure that the email address in your profile is the exact same one you're using for Gravatar
hmm, I did it back in March
ok, will do
Ah, too many email addresses. They were different. Lets see if it takes.
one email address is for my openid and one is my email. I wonder if I should make them the same.
I do like gravatars identicons, a lot.
