@calavera I disagree, I think that should be a decision for the Super User community. My intent for the Apple site was not to supersede Super User when it comes to Mac questions, but rather to see if it's possible to coexist. Now, if the Super User community decides that they're OK with sending all Mac questions here then that is fine, but I don't want them to feel like they're under any obligation to do so
@calavera I think it's something that can be discussed, but it's a decision that should be made by the Super User community and moderators. Maybe try starting a topic on meta.superuser.com about it?
@VxJasonxV: i disagree with your definition of appliances in the context of SuperUser. I think it really should be for super-users of refrigerators, dishwashers, etc.

@KyleCronin: That was actually my plan... however i started with a message in the teacher's lounge to see if anyone has opinions in there. i don't really want to start a public argument if it turns out to be a touchy subject.
@calavera That might actually be a useful site, or maybe you could talk with diy.stackexchange.com to see if you can expand the scope a bit to include household appliances
In it's simplest form, find takes one parameter, the path, in it's actually worthful form, it takes the path, and then narrowing criteria.
Thus, you want, find (the program), / (the path), and -name abc.dmg (the criteria).
find / -name abc.dmg
Stack Exchange management wrote a big post about why it makes sense to spin off some topics or areas into their own stack sites. If I have an Ubuntu question, it would make sense to ask it in the Ubuntu site. If it's a WordPress question, there's a site for that too. And Apple questions, there's ...
I have search the data, the result is 838 record is found, my data is in 800th record. In each time I navigate the data and then I seen my data. So what is the best method having the iphone to see my 800th record?
Just a datapoint: it's not only SO, and it's not only Programmers SE.
Example: this question by this user. Here it is in its entirety:
Search data in iphone?

@Dori I firmly believe that whether or not Apple questions are allowed on Super User should be a decision made by the users and community of Super User. Though I disagreed with Diago, I didn't downvote him because my disagreement didn't come from being a Super User user, but as a user/mod on Apple.SE
So, the circumstances are different, because my job != SE. But... your link Dori, strikes me as something I would heavily disagree with. You can't use process to fix people. You use people to fix process.
If we need to change something, we need to convince the people to change their habits. It sucks, but it's the best way for nit-noid growing pains like this.
I'm creating a script that issues a few curl commands in order to access a time-protected mms stream link, then set up a relay using cvlc (vlc's command line interface) for my own use on an unencumbered player.
The curl aspect of this is working, as I can run as a browser and curl side by side a...
@Dori A default allow policy would probably be best, but it would be nice to have a moderator function to 'refuse' a question that's been migrated and would move it back to the original site
Could the tag [apple] be put on the blacklist at Apple.SE? It's currently a synonym for [apple-inc], but we've found that doesn't actually solve the problem.
[Note: I know this question is similar to Tag synonyms system not working on migrated question?, but its answer doesn't answer this question.]
Over at Apple.SE, we've just started getting migrated questions, and that's caused things to get a little funky. Here's an example:
We currently have t...
part of my opinion about the whole SU thing is probably based in the fact that I've only ever received ONE good/real/working solution to a question i asked there
out of 6 questions
so i just personally haven't see any sort of 'expert' level knowledge being shared there
and i think it's directly related to the signal/noise ratio
I thought I would die without a middle click, but frankly since I've gravitated more to using the keyboard for everything, I always have a hand on the keyboard, so holding command and clicking (to open a link in a new tab) is reivial
