@LeppyR64 when you're finished with the puzzle you're currently working on I would love if you took a stab at mine :) If you can't figure anything out then perhaps I should make the next one a little easier.

@cbronson I intend to. This one's a bear though :)

@LeppyR64 awesome, thank you!

@WesleySitu Not even really sure if this is on the right track, but it's something to do with stuff liek this. Never used imgur, hope this works. imgur.com/qjaD9xI
Austin Powers rings in my head, "But what does it all mean Basil?"

@LeppyR64 what to do with face 3 then?

Shhh.... :)
Hmmm, Sven Orm's clue means the crosses are dice, (cross me once and bend me five times), five folds to make the cube
Sick Harming - Tock Tock - They're hands on the clock. The squiggly and the straight seem to match that

12:34 AM
for sven orm's, i interpreted that as dont cross me as you unfold the dice on me or i'll bend you back five times back into a cube

Could be

just another line of thought im trying, but no results yet :P

Which face is 3 in your graveyard image, middle cube left face?

yes
look at the silver die image if you want reference

just like the silver die
duh :)

12:35 AM
also note that this isn't a normal die

yeah noticed
1 not opposite 6

yep

opposites usually sum 7
I wish I knew what F.N. - West and S.N. - North was

i think that'll be when we get to the map
also, if we try taking the sides to be times as a clock, how do we tell which side is up on some of the faces

I was orienting them as the face would be with the center of the 4x4 grid
3 is troubling though
Clock's say tick-tock or is it misdirection...
Gonna go do some dishes and ruminate.
Ruminate doesn't mean rum, but that ain't a bad idea.

12:51 AM
Can you even ruminate without rum?
It's at least less plesant

1 hour later…
1:59 AM
@cbronson I helped out but your hints point at the transcript and I'm drawing a big ol blank there. The time stamps don't show me anything. I'm afraid I'm not going to be much help straight off.
I wouldn't be discouraged though. I don't think your puzzle is too hard. There might just be something that intuitively you jump too that some people don't.

@LeppyR64 Thanks for that! Try looking at the timestamps together rather than in isolation

1 hour later…
3:22 AM
@cbronson I got no more than what @feelinferrety got.

Yeah, kinda stuck on the research front here. All I got left at this point is observations.

I notice that in the Netherlands a lot of addresses end in "plein"
"plein" literally means "square"

3:43 AM
"plein" = "plying" = wet bending??

4:08 AM
Ugh. Bedtime.

2 hours later…
6:09 AM
@LeppyR64, @WesleySitu like your gimp work and ideas. Do you have any ideas about the ring yet?
Generally: the graveyard part is the one where mistakes can happen easily - both for solving and building. I did cross check multiple times, but I've unfortunately proven multiple times that I make mistakes. Hence, if you do some intermediate steps in painting, show them (giving me an opportunity to check).

1 hour later…
7:41 AM
I be also summarised some of your work in the wiki post now.

2 hours later…
9:32 AM
@Anton Am i right now ?

10:08 AM
Almost 6000 questions ! Come on we need 4 more puzzles !

Bingo @Lordofdark
Notice that there could be only 1 location on the map, btw.
taking the first letter of the name.

I've spent at least 40 minutes on an anagram solver without success, and today I've just looked at the letters and I've seen "anniversary"

aren't those kind of moments beautiful ? :)

oh yes, I am so relieved now

1 hour later…
11:29 AM
And here goes the silly answer to my question :)

12:20 PM
Nice, though, Anton. Was too involved for me, this week - haven't felt well
@Lordofdark Those review audits are so condescending, aren't they? "Stop, you idiot. Pay attention to what you're doing!" .... I was, you stupid machine. Start working correctly.
And they always count against you, even when broken.

Ahah I had the feeling that the system was going to fuck me on this on so I screen shot

Q: A pirate's treasure-hunt

BmyGuestMy dear puzzle friends, I need your help! An old acquaintance of mine has recently passed away and mentioned me in his will. I was quite thrilled, as the man was rather rich due to some clever investments during his lifetime. Unfortunately, he was as, hmm, unconventional as he was rich. He alway...

I really don't have anything to go on with the Ring. i.stack.imgur.com/YqUSJ.jpg
I can align it with the graveyard. The text on the right says "Quo Vadis" which means where are you going. The parts on the bottom look like the dice, but some of the faces are light and dark. Not sure what's up there.
(Mostly just rubber ducking it here) but if anyone has thoughts throw them in.

You have spent so much time on this puzzle. Are you guys close to the end ?
I will look at it tonight it looks asewome

12:59 PM
@Deusovi gonna have to rethink the "no textbook mathematics" after this corker:

Q: Find the odd number out (from math book)

palschFound this in my brother's math book, we tried to solve it but didn't manage to find any solution. Apology if it it too easy, but we really tried to find it. Find the odd number out: $\frac{3}{8}$; $\frac{4}{9}$; $0.37$; $0.4\overline{8}$; $\frac{7}{15}$; $\frac{9}{11}$ The only thing we foun...

1:10 PM
@Lordofdark We're wrapping up clues and we have a general idea where we are heading, but there's still a couple big tasks to wrap up.
I gotta print these dice out so I can cut them I think.

Q: Confused clock face puzzle

Vojtěch Dohnal There is a clock face with the correct (target) numbers written in circles. But somebody confused the clock face and created a crazy clock with numbers written in elipses. Your task is to repair the clock face by moving individual numbers one by one around the clock's perimeter and aslo using...

This puzzle is interesting but sooo unclear

Imagine you are the blank circle
You can only move on a line, swapping your position with the number in it.
I haven't found anything yet. :[

Yeah i get it now, but I had to read the question, answer and comment several times

well, it has "confused" in the title :>

1:48 PM
It could even be impossible

There seem to be no way to swap 2 numbers next to each other with only shifts of 3, 6, 9 and 12
But I'm probably speaking too soon...
I have made a 1-12 cycle that starts at 6

but you can't turn it :p

no, but it's a better start than being 1 notch off
as 6 is divisible by 3
I'll post my partial answer

2:05 PM
State space of ~6billion. Might be able to brute force it.
Breadth-First search. Still take a long time though.

The more I try the more I feel like it is impossible

I'm getting closer
Very unoptimized solution, but I'm getting it.
arf, I missed my shot
I'll post my current progress and see if someone will pick it up.

2:21 PM
I stop here with this, If nobody as solved it tonight I will try to brute force it

Morning

I also would have loved using colors to show the operations better, but it doesn't stay spoilered :/
Hi cbronson

2:42 PM
We should put a puzzle in the name of this chat

3:03 PM
@cbronson did you see @feelinferrety's progress?

3:14 PM
@LeppyR64 checking now
He's got the idea down, I'm sure he'll have the execution here shortly. Once the transcript is solved it gets a little easier

6000 soon

3:30 PM
ok I found it.
after 145 moves
sigh

I'm not sure how long my solution was. I got lost counting it

4:20 PM
There we go, 6000 questions.

....and I am thoroughly confused by it
At least the 6000th question wasn't a "which comes next in an IQ test question" question

3 hours later…
6:56 PM
>_>
<_<
Empty on a weekday afternoon? That's... odd.

:)
Everyone went home early for the weekend

Q: Reverse puzzling - What is my brother solving?

Lord of darkThis puzzle is inspired by the previous reverse puzzles My brother and I love puzzles. But I know he is solving some puzzles without me. So yesterday I sneaked into his bedroom to find out what he is working on. The only thing I found is this piece of paper with numbers on it : (2,8) ...

My puzzle has been there for 24h hours and is still not solved ! Woh !
It's afirst time for me !

PS: If you want to talk Pirates we made another room.

I'm never really sure where to start on those kinds of puzzles

@BusinessCat on @Lordofdark's puzzle or the pirate puzzle?

7:06 PM
Lordofdark's

Ugghhhh, does anyone else want to just nuke anything labeled iq-test?

@BusinessCat I don't know any good method to solve this but I would try to identify some patterns
ahah just ignore them dude, don't nuke people

Downvote at your leisure

I'm not nuking for realsies. I'm just frustrated with the influx and they're all just stupid patterns that can't be solved because they're so open-ended.

You'd think people would get the idea of all similar questions have negative score, but even then...

7:11 PM
I don't like them, but I understand you can see some challenge in finding an answer "as natural as possible"

3 hours later…
9:46 PM
@GordonK i have some rhymes if youd like to add them in

9:58 PM
Fire Away. I'm getting all sorts of Edit clashes as I add stuff an other people try to!

theyre names of famous scientific people
second set is Fred sanger, third set is marie curie
so that can help you out a bit when filling in words :P
which means that my contribution for the google safesearch is unfortunately incorrect...
i thought that was totally it

Well spotted

10:40 PM
@GordonK maybe john bardeen but thats a nobel prize in physics

Yes - They are all double-winners
I was busy looking in chemistry and I had the wrong connection

astonishing demolishing --> amazing razing
and the last to excludes nudes

I had eludes!!!
Just leaves the first

more or less the same lol
LI might start with little, but i cant find a fitting for the I

Little / Light / Limited / Less

10:46 PM
also could start with low

impact / influence / impression
Less Impress????
A bit weak

yea

Limp Imp. !!!!
Low Inflow
Think its: Least Increased

11:02 PM
that works
i cant think of anything else better

Cheers for the help

was fun

11:51 PM
Mmm... I have an idea for the fortnight challenge... I'll post it in the weekend !
