@Ingo Lest I look like a liar (since you can read deleted questions), the answer from that Q&A about installing LIRC w/ apt you flagged that I said was nearly the same as one posted and deleted by the OP wasn't by the OP -- I just read one of the comments as implying that and the avatars were very similar >_> Anyway, it does go to prove my point about how deleting bad or wrong answers just opens the door for someone later on to add them back again in ignorance. Hence a bad answer != NAA
but a duplicate answer can always be deleted as just that.

The explanation for the decline was something about the answer being the same as one posted and deleted by the OP (original poster of the question). Right after that I noticed it actually was not the OP, and wanted to clear that up in case you thought I'd lost the plot ;)
