nmasantaProposal: I think there is no requirement to place the new tag named simplex-method, which has been created by an user few days ago and already $2$ questions are added here. Since there is already a tag named linear-programming and this contains many methods like the simplex method, dual-simplex-...

I will add that the tag was created a few days ago, on August 31. It seems that some questions about the simplex method are tagged simplex+linear-programming. I will point out that there also is a separate tag (two-phase-simplex) for the the two phase simplex method. — Martin Sleziak 27 secs ago

It would be good to here from people who are active in the tag. I am not sure - maybe some of them could be pinged to get notified of the discussion on meta.
But I am not really sure, who to ping about this.
Rodrigo de Azevedo seems to be active both in questions related to linear programming and he often creates tags. But he isn't really that active on meta.
These are the top users in this tag: math.stackexchange.com/tags/linear-programming/topusers Maybe somebody among the would be a good candidate to ask about this.

nmasanta Proposal: rename the synonym "laplaces-equation" to "laplace-equation" or to ''laplace's-equation''. laplaces-equationis a synonym of harmonic-functions. I think we should have remove the s from laplaces-equation or give an Apostrophe before s (i.e., 's) . There is nothing called laplace...

@ArcticChar on that note, the tag [gradshteyn-ryzhik] started showing up within the last hour:
all of the tagging coming from the same user
So if there's a proscription on tags for specific books, that should probably be removed

@MaximilianJanisch Please don't add a newly created tag to many questions at once. And whenever you want to create a new tag, it's preferable to post first in the Tag management thread to see what other users think of the tag. — Arnaud D. 19 secs ago

@MartinSleziak I guess I should have pinged you about my previous messages on similar grounds.
@ArnaudD. Ah, thanks
I figured there was a process but didn't know enough to jump in

I've added a pointer to this chatroom in my comment above.

@MaximilianJanisch Please don't add a newly created tag to many questions at once. And whenever you want to create a new tag, it's preferable to post first in the Tag management thread to see what other users think of the tag. Alternatively, there is also a dedicated chatroom. — Arnaud D. 22 mins ago
Gradshteyn and Ryzhik (GR) is the informal name of a comprehensive table of integrals originally compiled by the Russian mathematicians I. S. Gradshteyn and I. M. Ryzhik. Its full title today is Table of Integrals, Series, and Products. Since its first publication in 1943, it was considerably expanded and it soon became a "classic" and highly regarded reference for mathematicians, scientists and engineers. After the deaths of the original authors, the work was maintained and further expanded by other editors. At some stage a German and English dual-language translation became available, followed...
I'd guess that this could be considered "tag for a specific book".
In that case, I have simply removed the tag .
If you prefer, in this case, not to do this without any discussion, somebody can make a post on meta about the new tag. (Since Arnaud D. suggested to the tag creator that they might post on meta, maybe we could wait first to see the next action on their side.)
Perhaps in this case even a separate question would be reasonable rather than just an answer in the tag management thread.

Maximilian JanischProposal: Keep tag gradshteyn-ryzhik for questions related to formulas found specifically in the book Table of Integrals, Series, and Products. There are currently about 120 questions about formulas found in the above book, so I have tagged some of these questions with gradshteyn-ryzhik. Altho...

@MaximilianJanisch Thanks for making a post on meta about the new tag.
We'll see what the feedback from other users on the proposed tag will be.
