A tag related feature request on Meta Stack Exchange:

Q: Can we allow 7.5K users to suggest tag synonyms without a score of 5 in the tag?

M. TibbitsFeature Request: Could 7.5K users have the privilege of proposing synonyms without the 5 upvotes per tag requirement? (in other words unrestricted synonym suggestion) Background: I would like to be able to suggest tag synonym suggestions. I do not however, have the required 2.5K rep on Stack O...

It was recently bumped by a bounty.

@MartinSleziak I think the iterated monodromy group tag is fair enough but I wan't sure the protocol for adding tag wiki info etc. I can't claim to understand the Wikipedia entry but happy to copy/paste from it if that's appropriate. The proof-complexity tag; I was surprised to find this didn't exist but couldn't find a alternative.

@ProducerofBS Well, there is definitely not a general consensus about this, but some users prefer that new tags should be discussed on meta before creation. Relevant discussion on meta: Should every new tag be discussed on meta before creation?
About the tag-info - you can leave it empty if you think that the name is descriptive enough and the intended usage is clear already from the name.
However, it might be useful to know that tags used on only one question are automatically deleted after certain time unless they have tag-wiki.
So one additional reason to create the tag-info would be to prevent this automatic deletion. (That is, if you believe that the new tag has potential to be actually useful.)
If you copy some stuff from Wikipedia, you should definitely also include the link to the Wikipedia article as an attribution. See also here: tag-wikis based on Wikipedia, particularly the last comment by Willie Wong.

@quid Thanks a lot for expanding your answer about (tag-removed) tag.
Since the question has been bumped, I'll wait a bit whether somebody wants to add something. (Most likely there will be not much additional activity on that question, so eventually I am going to accept your answer.)
I am glad that I know your reasons for this. To me this one sounds the most relevant:
> I do not think we should introduce something that basically only works around this intentionally imposed restriction. If we think that per-site moderators should be able to delete tags then the way to go would be to request this.
And thanks also for carrying out experiment with merging into (untagged) tag.
I will wait a bit to see whether I also get some response on the Meta Stack Exchange post about this.
I was considering that at some point in the future I might raise the issue whether this tag is actually needed on MathOverflow Meta. But probably it would not be worth all the fuss around it.

@MartinSleziak Such a tag would be used very rarely indeed.
@MartinSleziak I was going to write a Tag Wiki but I see the tag's been deleted from my post anyway so I guess I'll save myself the effort.

I see I did not notice that the tag was removed.
Since @quid is quite experienced with tags, I would trust their judgement. (We will see whether he responds to this discussion.)
If you still feel that the tag might be useful, before going through another round of creating and removing tag it might be better to raise the new tag on meta - either in tag management thread or as a separated post.
But since quid was involved in the removal of the tag and they visit this room at least quid often, I would wait a bit first to see quid's comment on this new tag.

I removed it since it seems too specialized. I had not notice there was a discussion here. Otherwise I would have said something and not just removed it.
I'll also admit that I was in search for a tag to delete.
For the purpose of testing the untagged merge.
Still I think it is just too special.

@ProducerofBS See above for quid's comments on the tag.
I'll have to go but thanks to both of you for visiting the room.
Sometimes one can feel lonely here...
