Q: Riemann-Stieltjes Integral tag

gt6989bThere are currently separate tags for lebesgue-integral and riemann-integral, and there have been a couple cases, which were asking about Riemann-Stieltjes integration. I am wondering why is there no riemann-stieltjes-integral tag, and if one should be created? I wanted to raise the question her...

A: Tag management 2017

Martin SleziakEDIT: Since this post reached score +6 (which shows some support) I went ahead and created gauge-integral. I still think that synonym with henstock-kurzweil-integral might be useful. (But other names used for this type of integral are probably not widespread enough to be considered as suitable n...

@JohnMa Since you have created the tag for Riemann-Stieltjes integral, maybe you could post an answer to that question saying that the tag is already created.
@JohnMa About this specific user - it seems that they stopped now.
Of course, you can mention something to them if you wish to. (A possibility is also to give a short explanation in the edit summary.)
I considered making a post about in the tag management thread. This would be also opportunity to leave a comment for Intuition - with link to the meta thread, perhaps also mention to be more careful when creating tag, especially when doing this without previous discussion on meta. (And possibly also with a link to this chat room.)
Since the tag has been deleted in the meantime, this is moot now. But if this user (or somebody else) start creating many new tags, I agree that something should be said. But I don't think that it makes much difference who makes a comment about tag creation.
Anyway, thanks to John Ma and Trevor Gunn for removal of some tags.

Q: Commutators of matrices and vector fields

user39082The tangent space of GL(n,R) in the unit element is Mat(n,R) and its elements correspond to left-invariant vector fields on GL(n,R). It is well-known that under this correspondence the commutator of matrices corresponds to the commutator of vector fields. This can be shown by a direct computati...

A: Riemann-Stieltjes Integral tag

Toby BartelsI put this in a comment, and @Martin Sleziak suggested that I make it an answer, it here it is again (with better formatting): There is also such a thing as a Lebesgue–Stieltjes integral[^1], and one might want to ask in general about Stieltjesization (if I may say that) about any notion of inte...
