I might give it a try. Before committing and candidate myself, though, I would like to ask our current mods:
- what's the level of commitment required? (i.e.: if I go on vacation 2+ weeks without constant connection, will the world fall apart?)
- is there a tutorial available for the various mod tools?
- is there usually an overlap period between old and new mods?

The current climate that I have experienced in this community is one of hostility. I am concerned about where stack exchange is moving in general. The moderators, I feel, are very quick in shutting down questions. My two cents.
