Q: Designing a text based logo for a fake "Freelance" site

Niteesh BhargavaI am trying to create my first text based logo, for a fake website named "Freelance". In theory this website is a common questions and answers website like Stack Overflow. It also has a section for web tutorials. The users of my (fake) website are programmers and designers both asking questions o...

The shape is a 'bird' and before I talk about font choice or logo design, I would like to know the significance of the bird as well.
@Vikas And before I scroll back and check for my own dumb self, what is this artwork intended for?

@GWarner Hi. Nothing much. Just wanted to share a quote with a slef made quote.

@Vikas okay. it is quite good. i was just unsure of the context.

@GWarner I used a photo from unsplash and did some Photoshop effects and texture. I'm also thinking to make text like it's typed on actual paper. Like pressed down.
self* made
@GWarner It looks like R, which is intentional. But it also looks like a heart a bit. I'll have to work on it a lot and it can become interesting.

@NiteeshBhargava If that's a bird or whatever that represents, I would make the corners a bit rounded, so it kind of blends with rest of letters. Also, is it a finished logo or just a rough sketch?

I have used the bird shape to specify a single bird flying just to give a bird like feel to user of website.

The thought I am assuming here is no matter of struggle one day he will be flying.

I hope it make sense though because most of junior web developers (Freelancers I know) are frustrated when starting with coding

@NiteeshBhargava I don't have any problem regarding the concept. It's fine concept. The bird flying idea. I would be more concerned about the design/finishing. If you want to ask if the concept is okay, I'd say yes, but only if you can make it better so everything looks part one thing.

@Vikas Its in its very early stage, I am learning to design so not going to use it any where

@NiteeshBhargava Cool. So you'll improve it?
Or leave as it is?

I No, I will work on it for couple of more weeks
Sorry for my English, I am going to work on it for one or two weeks to make it looks polished

@NiteeshBhargava Good. You can share it again whenever you make changes in case you need more feedback.
@NiteeshBhargava 👍🏼

Thank you @Vikas, your suggestions has been helpfull

Hi. I'm trying to design a logo for the APL programming language. APL originated with IBM, and has a long history of making apple-puns (though APL is normally spoken out as individual letters). APL is an array language where arrays can have multiple dimensions (rather than the single dimension of most programming languages). The special symbol is central to APL.
I've used green colours from IBM's Carbon design, a cube-based shape to hint at the multi-dimensionality, but with a cut-out and a -inspired leaf, so the overall shape becomes a stylised apple:
Oh, I forgot to say that the letters "APL" here are stylised to resemble three other special characters that are common in APL:
Happy for any feedback.
Here are a bunch of other programming language logos:
Note that the white D on the orange cube is actually an implementation of APL.

Hi @Adám! A bit short on time now but I'll be happy to point out what I see as core issues tomorrow
(am I doing this apple pun thing right?) :)

No rush; looking forward, and yes, you got it right.
