@EthanBierlein Eu! Eu!

1:39 AM
@EthanBierlein I think it's a good contribution!
Of course opinions will vary on any translation.
I was wondering, why both praepono and praevius?

1:56 AM
@Cerberus I'm not quite sure why exactly I used both. I initially wrote out the tranlsations without praepōnō, but they didn't seem good to me then; it was sort of that fuzzy feeling of "this doesn't sound quite right".

I don't have any good ideas.
But both words together seemed a bit...pleonastic?

I would agree, especially looking back on them now.
I added two extra alternatives just now, and did a fair bit of rephrasing.
Both of the new ones are rather short; I cut out the redundancy and tried to adhere more closely to the original phrase.
If PRÆVII·NOS·DIE·AC·NOCTE isn't close to the original, then I don't know what is, heh.

2:50 AM
@EthanBierlein Hmm but why the "nos"?

Our tour is back to daisies and unicorns, and the mod UI says: "There are currently no viable question candidates for the About page"
Did they change the criteria or did our previous candidates all fall below the threshold?

12:58 PM
@JoonasIlmavirta That seems mildly absurd; there are literally thousands of viable questions and answers which could be put there.
Do you have a direct line of contact with the CMs as a mod? I'd message them about that.

@EthanBierlein There are technical requirements for an example question.
We used to have a couple of candidates to choose from, but now there are none, and I have no idea when this happened.
Maybe deleting some old comments triggered this...
You can run this data query to see eligible questions and near misses.
I just edited an old question to make it valid. This one needs a comment on one of the short answers.

Does it matter what kind of comment?
(an aside: that SQL query is absolutely terrifying)

@EthanBierlein Nope, but it should be presentable enough for the tour, preferably. Asking for clarification or linking to related material would be reasonable.
@EthanBierlein It is. I can't really write data queries, but I can make small tweaks to ones that almost do what I want.

I added on underneath your answer (assuming that yours fits the length requirement).

It does.

Sweet!

2:48 PM
The system might take a while to react, but we should have something reasonable in the tour soon.

Optumē!
