Q: What do each of the element & status symbols mean?

xyzWhen I use Libra, I can see icons depicting those elements against which the enemy is weak. But some of the symbols are so abstract that I can't figure out their meaning: A "Skull Defender" is weak against a white circle: But what does "white circle" mean? Is there a guide somewhere that I'm not...

@forest Yeah I completely dropped off after matt smith
idk why
the bits I saw from the old doctor that came after were good
but I think after a while, Doctor who seems to run in circles
Or maybe the Amy story line being wrapped it felt like you started brand new, and I had my fill of the rollercoaster

@forest hard pass on moffat coming back as showrunner for me
doctor who's perennial problem has been bad writing, good acting
actually, let me take that back. good acting, good writing, bad show direction
19:54
@Yuuki didnt follow on DrWho news but if I remember correctly moffat was the showrunner or writer for 'the golden years' of Tennant and Smith?
@Fredy31 Davies was the showrunner for most of Tennant's run, I think?
Or half?
Kind of sounds like 'we have no clue why the show is losing fans and so we will just get back the showrunner when shit worked'
So i guess he was writer back then
he wrote a number of popular episodes, yes.
just remember he was one of the main people off screen for Dr Who in the tennant/smith era
But yeah it sounds like 'we want to recreate whatever we had when we caught lightning in a bottle'
my issue with moffat as showrunner is that he tends to make the show all about the doctor and most plot arcs about how the doctor is so cool and different and unique
19:57
And that not often works
but yeah I would guess Dr Who is close to being put back into the vault
okay yeah, moffat was never showrunner during tennant's run
he took over at the same time matt smith became the doctor
honestly, his first episode as showrunner is pretty evident of how the trajectory of the show would turn out: the doctor saves the day by telling the antagonist how cool and awesome he is and that they should be scared of him because he's saved the earth so many times and beaten so many enemies

@Yuuki But all of the best episodes (Silence in the Library, Heaven Sent, etc.) are Moffat.
Even though some of the Matt Smith episodes that he wrote were not very good.
@forest Moffat is really good at writing one-off episodes, but he's not so good at entire seasons
@SaintWacko I think I agree.
But he's better than Chris whatshisface.
22:24
Personally I loved the Peter Capaldi (I probably butchered that spelling) Doctor. I wasn't a fan of Matt Smith.
23:07
@Nzall i was hoping to avoid telling my mum since she seems to have lost interest in the series now (no longer asking me when new episode are), but she found out and had the very expected reaction i was hoping to avoid
Mum: *calls out to come down*
Me: yeh?
Mum: did you see this?
Me: *see's something unrelated* what?
Mum: i mean what was on before about who the new Doctor Who will be
Me: yehhhhhh
Mum: they chose a bloody n, that's worse than that old bastard
old bastard = Peter Capaldi. she hates him for some reason
@forest Christopher Eccleston? he also played McCuller in G.I Joe
@Yuuki who he the writer for the last Season of Tennant's?
like it would be hard to ever top that but you could get close if you got whoever did that back again
so here's the thing. for any given series, doctor who can have multiple writers coming in and out
@Memor-X No, the writer. Chris Chipnipwipplesnipple whatever.
for example, moffat wrote a bunch of episodes during tennant's run
you're likely asking about the showrunner
which, in this case, would be russell t davies
@forest i feel like it would have been much faster to just look up his name rather than typing all that out
Not on my internet connection...
23:23
my biggest/only complaint about the chibnall series is that whole arc about the origin(s) of the doctor
anything else that people complained about didn't feel like an issue at all for me
@Yuuki I couldn't even get to that part, but I read about it and I'm glad I didn't watch it.
but that origin myth arc was just more navel-gazing, protagonist-centered mythology from the moffat era that i couldn't bear
The problem is that it tried to rewrite canon.
doctor who's always played fast and loose with continuity so it's not like they were coming out of left field with that
Yeah but the whole "Doctor is basically a god and created the Time Lords" is pushing it.
23:27
they had a storyline close to that in the pre-revival era, iirc
Was that the storyline which resulted in its cancellation?
it's nothing new. i don't like it, but it's not anything novel
Sure.
