1. I've emailed the property manager (and cc'd the landlord) explaining the situation, and asking if there's any options available to me he can suggest. My landord suggested I do this, and my aunt (who works in a property managment company) suggest the same thing. Haven't heard back yet, but I'm hoping he'll come back with something like "we'll kick out your room mate but not you if he doesn't pay next months rent"

2. I just had a "chat" with him, where I basically told him to get his shit together. That this has been going on for at least 6 months, and he should have applied to every place around us 4 times by now. he should print off 30 resumes, hand them out, to everyplace till he runs out, and do it again the next day. If he doesn't hear back freom any place by next month, then he should do it again. And then again.
