@murgatroid99 Except that in many cases, you actually can, seeing as google happens to have a fairly comprehensive database of copyrighted material on hand, and is in contact with the copyright holders, and can reasonably assume, in most cases, that if that material is uploaded by JohnnyUpload6969 that Johnny is not in fact a representative of Warner Music Group (or whoever).

And in fact, that's exactly what Youtube does.

Now you can argue that they're too aggressive, or that their automated system turns up to many false positives or whatever, but to say you can't tell is on it's face one hundred percent false.

So long as the copyright holders are willing to provide a reference for comparison for google to keep on hand on their servers, they absolutely can tell whether the uploader owns the copyright.

Although, that said, you don't need much money or power, and technically, if google was willing to assume that the first person to upload a piece of content is the copyright holder until proven otherwise via a takedown notice or prior arrangement such as the one they have with most of the Big Media Companies, they could have an automated filter that would probably be right roughly 90% of the time.

There are a lot of problems with copyright law, but this isn't really one of 'em. Rightsholders have a right to prevent infringement. Youtube has a duty to do takedowns when asked.

The automation of that process is important to all parties in the interest of not making it a nightmare to ever deal with this stuff.

Q: How do you re-run the end of a level?

As waypoints aren't carried over from game to game as in Diablo II, how do you start a new Diablo III game to run a particular boss, or just grind on higher level minions near the end of the act? It's pretty easy to blitz the early quests, but is there a way to just skip it entirely?
