the head flying off is basically Gamebryo/Havok's physics being hilarious by applying the force of Pushy's knockback on top of the ordinary 'you punched him so hard his head flew off' knockback that you can get out of any attack.

So, I spend the weekend at the in-laws, where there is NO INTERNET. I decided this would be a good time to start playing NetHack, as I have it on my phone.
And now I feel like it's going to be impossible to progress in any significant way without knowing all the crazy metagame crap. How am I supposed to know that I can carve an obscure Tolkein reference in the ground to protect me from monsters?

Basically anything anyone that has ever touched the code has thought of as an offhand idea is probably implemented, and is probably either going to kill you unexpectedly or would have saved your ass if you had known about it, but you probably don't.
(Dwarf Fortress is victim to a similar problem, in spite of not being a true Roguelike, and is why it is often considered a roguelike in spirit if not in truth.)

They have full control now, if they want to highlight the create account link they can go in and edit the html/css themselves. The fact they don't and instead waste vertical page on any page reeks of an ad.

I play City of Heroes and the largest wiki for that game moved to Wikia for a while, but they pretty quickly left because the ads were just way too intrusive
