Right, I could use some advice @Paulster2 and others. I have a CV axle nut which I'm so far spent about 3 hours trying to get off. I don't own an impact gun, I've just been using a breaker bar. It's had many shots of penetrating fluid, I've tried heating it, pounding it, I've hammered on the end of the breaker bar, and leaning into the breaker bar and bouncing on it. Nothing! It's been on for 22 years and it's damned if it's coming off now!
The way I see it I have 3 options. 1) I could buy an impact gun, which I've always wanted since I was 5. But, it may not work on this, and would I use it enough to make it worth the money? 2) I could try a cheater bar, I've been keeping an eye out for a length of pipe for that, or 3) I could buy a nut splitter. Not sure if one would fit in there as it's recessed.

Okay, so I decided to bite the bullet and buy an impact wrench, and it spun that nut off in about a second! I hammered and chiseled and levered and torched that bastard for hours! I wish I'd bought one years ago!

Impact wrenches are the best. I have done dumb things with them (don't use them to put nuts on!) but they're usually 100% awesome. I often use mine on lug nuts as a threat. "If you don't come off this time, I'm putting the impact wrench back on! Wouldn't you like to just wrench off?"

Hahaha! I'll try threats next time

On my current car, the lug bolts are generally disdainful of my impact wrench. However, after a good rattling, they give up to the breaker bar right away
