Just curious, but what is everyone's take on Volvos? Specifically the older versions from 2005 and lower. Reliability, dependability, maintenance costs, part availability and so on.

As far as I know, Volvos have always been famous for reliability and especially safety (both active and passive). However, this may not apply to all models. Costs and availability of parts is a region-based matter. In terms of luxury, it is somewhere between Japanese and German cars.
