@Pᴀᴜʟsᴛᴇʀ2 It's alright, at least it wasn't the front one, so I can still drive it to the place that replaces it. I almost considered getting some acrylic window out of frustration but those are not road legal here -.-
Nice to see you're still around Paul, I knew you'd have some nice tips about this repair :)
How have your own garage projects been going?

Well, I suck at welding but I think my machine isn't helping, my wire has been sitting too long so I think there's some tiny signs of rust on it and the feeding is not going smooth. Not trying to find excuses, but I'm having a hard time doing nice welds on this job, they been going much worse than on that test plate I did a long time ago :/
Right now it looks like crap, but I'm seriously considering covering the parts that aren't weld sealed with bondo, because sometimes I try to improve something and end up making it worse, like puncturing a hole and then working in despair trying to close it
Not sure if this makes me feel any better, but even looking this crappy this still looks better than what I got when I paid that guy to do .-.

@Pᴀᴜʟsᴛᴇʀ2 A friend suggested using tin instead of bondo to fill those gaps, if I'm really wary of trying to weld them. Think that is a good idea? On videos it seems like it might be an easier process while still keeping the seal metallic

@IanC - Tin can be used, but it takes a special touch to use it. If it were me, I'd do the best sanding I could to smooth it down, then put some good rust through agent on it (rust converter), then put bondo down on top of it to clean up the surface before you start the painting process.

@Pᴀᴜʟsᴛᴇʀ2 Thanks man! I was suspicious that it might be a process that looks simpler than it really is in practice. I have some auto rust converter, will probably go with that then! Sunday I'll have a rotary tool in hands so the finishing on those tight spots should be slightly better specially after bondo
And still gotta fix the passenger side, guess that wasn't a really good start :p
