@BobCross It's like the tale of the expert called in to fix a machine in a factory - he comes in, looks at it for a few minutes, then hits it with a hammer, at which point it starts working. He presents a bill for $100, and the factory owner gets angry - "all you did was hit it with a hammer"
So he presents a revised, itemised bill - "Hitting with hammer: $5. Knowing where to hit: $95"

@RoryAlsop i was talking to my intern the other day, explaining to her that this job is weird in that it really shines a spotlight on the fact that it isn't possible to learn this stuff from school or a YouTube video. I had to critically evaluate a [device] the other day that they certainly didn’t teach me about in doctor school. You have to learn how to learn!

@BobCross Yeah - I think my foot slipped slightly. I'm taking it to a real dyno on March 2nd; I'll get some better numbers then (duh). Still going back and forth with the tuner to work some things out, but it's a slow process.
Log, send files, wait for them to tweak the tune and send me new calibration, flash, log, wash, rinse, repeat.
It's a bit of a pain to get the laptop secured in the car, go find a cop-free place to do a few WOT runs, etc.
The redline is set at 6750. Peak power should be around 5800, but I didn't do the 4th gear pull correctly. When I get it straightened out it'll probably show 200HP instead. :)
