Q: Used for advice with tire damage - sidewall-damage tag

Pᴀᴜʟsᴛᴇʀ2All - I created a sidewall-damage tag to specifically cover questions pertaining to sidewall damage. This will help us (and hopefully new users) find questions where their question might be answered and we can mark it as a duplicate if need be. Savage geese has a good back to back review of 2002 and 2018 WRX. The new one just doesn’t convince me that I’d be getting anything I don’t already have

Well, let's be clear, I would be getting a twin scroll turbo and a whole bunch of fresh bushings on every joint. Leaving the turbo aside, that's a large mark-up for a bushing set even if I were to pay someone else to install them.... ;-)

@BobCross - I was going to say, it won't give you anything you don't already have but a new car payment, right? I don't really like those. If the older version is doing the job (or with a little bit of $$ and sweat-equity I can get it there), why do I want a car payment. Not worth it.

Depends - everything costs money one way or the other. The current plan is for SecondSon to get this car when he needs it so eventually I'll need a new ride. I keep cars for a long time so costs have a long time to amortize.
One of the problems with the current WRX is the looming update to the platform in 2020-ish. Why buy the current model if you don't like it? I miss the hatch. That's what I have which means that it is the superior choice. ;-)
Also, the idea of video games shifting with a DSG gearbox sounds like it would be a hoot

@RobertS.Barnes - That's pretty kewl, Robert. Thanks for the share!

Isn't it swell how people with offices with closing doors think it's weird that people in cubes have mirrors so that it's harder for creeps to sneak up on them? That was sarcasm...
