We're a week into Winter Bash 2015, and a lot of secret hats have been found. How do you get these secret hats for yourself? Well, figuring that out is half the fun! I mean, you could be boring and just cheat off other people's work, but nuts to that, I say. There's nothing worse than a cheaty ch...
And then I don't feel so bad, because those were pretty cool thumbtacks, and so what if they were just thumbtacks? because it's the little things that make us feel good.
@Quill-HATMANIAC: They do. But it's possible offering prizes will decrease the quality of work. I've never met a child who did not like to pop bubblewrap, so adding an award will not likely increase efficiency. — Jon Ericson ♦1 min ago
Two positives beat one positive, I would assume. Maybe give them red cordial/frogs to eat for extra energy? — Quill - HAT MANIAC13 secs ago
@rolfl I'd guess that it is actually a bounty awarded to a post-bounty answer that is not the highest voted post-bounty answer. That's more in line with the mutiny thing.
But I haven't checked others to see if it holds. I can tell you that neither of the bounties I have awarded have earned the answerers a hat.
I appreciate the sentiment from two and a half hours ago, but thank-you posts are just noise, and I don't think I've posted bounty-worthy content on most sites.
Note that I didn't say anything about sending in physical hats. I don't even work in NYC, but now I'm curious about your millinery skills, @KitZ.Fox et al.!
@PearsonArtPhoto I dont know about that, but the Q that do get the badge, either are so useless that nobody will answer, or the OP will never com back to accept.
I'm trying to get the Weed-Eater hat on Stack Overflow. To do so, I'm looking at the list of questions recently awarded the Tumbleweed badge. The problem is, no tags show up there, and so it's rather difficult to see which ones I have a shot at. Any chance of showing the tags on this page? Thanks!
How did I get a secret hat when my score is so low?
Look at my stats. I have nothing good, sad to say I used to but not anymore. There is no other way unless they just give secret hats away.
Every site has a community bot which takes the credit for any server action that needs a user id, such as suggested edits.
There is no need for it to be named "Community," we could rename it to anything we like.
I'm proposing "Francesca," a name that originally comes from here, and has a long SE...
@KitZ.Fox Ha. No, someone else mentioned Infinite Jest to me right after I first replied to you. I didn't know about it before that (I had heard of the title but didn't know what it was and definitely not its characters).
What is the warp modifier for, and how is it used?
Even when I fill in the From and To fields, so that the modifier is not red, I still can not figure out what it is so post to do.
When I set up the modifier just like is shown in the manual, it does nothing.
For some reason, I can no longer access the Winterbash 2015 page--when I try, I get redirected to the Stack Exchange promotions page instead, just like Winterbash is over. Except, we should still have another week and a half.
Also, I can no longer see hat-related features on SE sites. What happe...
