Q: Is the active mass of every solid and liquid taken to be unity?

MagnesiumI learnt from my textbook and the question/answer - Why is active mass of a pure solid or liquid always taken as unity? that active mass of a solid or liquid is taken to be unity as: $$[A]=\frac n V=\frac{m}{M\times V}=\frac{\rho}{M}=k$$ where $[A]$ is the active mass, $n$ is the amount of subs...

The bounty I started is about to expire in 6 hours and still I didn't get a good answer.
Thank you in advance.

Hello people! Could someone please tell me why does Chlorine donate its lone pairs to the ring while it shows resonance (+m) effect? Some sources I consulted suggested that resonance and electro-negativity are totally unrelated but I'm still unsure why will Cl allow its e's to move away and become delocalized? How does it so easily let go of its e's? I'm also confused about why is elec. negativity not important here? I'd be very grateful if someone helps. Thank you so much. :)

@user8718165: I think you're asking why is mesomeric effect of chlorine is stronger than inductive effect? Did I understand it properly?

Q: Estimating maximum size of magnetite particles in this Nile Red ferrofluid video?

uhohIn the Nile Red video Making ferrofluid from scratch a suspension of small magnetite ($\ce{Fe^{2+}Fe_2^{3+}O_4^{2−}}$) particles is produced from a combination of ferrous chloride and ferric chloride. The nanoparticles are then given a coating of oleic acid ($\ce{CH3(CH2)7CH=CH(CH2)7COOH}$) to p...
