@Loong Oh, where does the temperature dependence come from?
@orthocresol I would tell you, if I could. I have been wondering about that for a long time now. Apparently there are a lot of people who think that is the only unit people understand, and judging from my most recent experiences, that appears to be true-ish. I have to translate my units to kcal, when I talk to my super. It's a bit annoying. I can only hope that change will come, even if it is slowly. What I don't understand is that reviewers and editors don't comment on this kind of 'mistakes'.

@Martin-マーチン entropy

Ah yes, it's always entropy, isn't it.

How much of 0.35 acetate solution would associate to form acetic acid and hydroxyl ions?
I was expecting it to fully associate with water molecules and release hydroxyl ions. For some reason I get a really really small degree of association of acetate.
(and my subsequent pH calculation matches with the answer in my textbook)
I wonder why most of the acetate won't steal a hydrogen from water and form acetic acid.

@Yashas In short: because acetic acid's pKa is so small.

@hBy2Py but pKb of its conjugate base is very high?

A high pKb means the opposite of a high pKa.
Something with a high pKa is very likely to pick up a proton from water

*low pKb

Something with a high pKb is very likely not to pick up a proton from water.
?
pKa of acetic acid is ~4, I think?
<checks>
4.76
So, its pKb is (14 - pKa) = 9.24

Frantically waves at @hBy2Py

<tips hat to @para>

Ah, am I interrupting?
@hBy2Py :D

Nah, feel free to chime in
pKa and pKb are only similar to one another if they're both around 7

Meh, nothing much to say (and that's probably for the best) XD

Otherwise, pKa is small when pKb is large, and vice versa.

2:16 PM
@hBy2Py Assuming the kids still like all things penguin O:)
Waves at @ortho

@paracetamol Hehe, they do -- I'll flag it to show them later. :-)

@hBy2Py Your kids are Mods? 8D
"Flag"

In YouTube!! :-P

So...you mean "like" ;-P

No.... I mean, add it to my "Watch Later" list
So, yea, 'flag' isn't the right netverb, but whatever.

2:21 PM
I had a feeling :3
@hBy2Py Yeah, just that "flag" is uttered too often around me :'(

2:55 PM
@hBy2Py Important question! \o/
The fate of all penguins depend on it! \o/
> How do I enable editing/comments on a file (Google drive)?
O:)

@paracetamol It's under 'sharing'
Click 'Advanced' in the lower right of the sharing dialog
Under 'who has access,' it probably shows "Private -- only you can access"
To the right of that it should say 'change...'; click that
Change the setting to either 'link-only' or 'public', per preference

Found it! \o/
Thanks! :')

A new little blip saying "Access: Anyone ...." will appear; from there you can select between 'can view', 'can comment', 'can edit'.

But apparently I can only choose between permitting editing and commenting...
...and I can't have both on :(

Well, if people can edit, then they can comment, too

3:01 PM
@hBy2Py Hmm, that makes sense... thanks! :D

3:15 PM

3:53 PM
@orthocresol Why'd you move that to Spring Cleaning? :O

Q: How is this question "too broad" and how can it be made more specific?
