It seems that mechanical chemistry will become more important

@Gau if you have a question, why do you remove it?
Grrr, these new guys

Anyway, @Gau I think it only happens in the pngs, and when they're transparent. Usually structures from Wikipedia.
So basically, never reduce transparency. It would unless dark spells.
@M.A.R.ಠ_ಠ actually I reposted it on the Tavern :P
@M.A.R.ಠ_ಠ yep, that's what I came to know as well
@M.A.R.ಠ_ಠ the fix is to use simple html <img src="%url%" width="%size%"> :D

@Abcd regarding your edit here for hybridization $\mathrm{}$ is supposed to be used $\ce{}$ is just for reactions . (I have no idea as to why but multiple users have pointed this out to me in the past) .
And imho there's no point in editing a 5 year old post just to change sp³ to $\ce{sp^3}$
09:54
@AvnishKabaj actually \ce and \mathrm both are fine, but if you use \ce, that's not wrong; read that meta post I linked to Pritt earlier
@AvnishKabaj i think Abcd's edit was worth. He fixed redundant ending, and formatted chemicals, and that's ok. As long as he doesn't go on editing too many old posts, i don't see a problem here
Ok
I thought potahto potayto edits were discouraged
what's that? :/
Like no improvement in the frontend only backend
09:59
he did fix the ending
and that $R_3C-$ thing
i don't think anyone needs to mind that as long as it's not done in large quantity

@AvnishKabaj i think the main point of that meta post was to avoid making edits on too many old questions (and consequently bumping them on the front page) all one after the other i.e. too many edits in a short time; so, I think if you make no more than 5-10 edits a day (all within half an hour) on old questions, you should probably live happily
That's why I didn't reject it
It was an improvement
yep, so, it's fine
time for me to go though
10:12
@GaurangTandon I came across that question while googling ... so edited...
@Abcd yep, I totally got that. I was explaining to Avnish instead. I'm totally fine with your edit :)

@Zhe now they want a thesis abstract and letter of recommendation...that doesn’t make any sense

Q: Voting Corrected

MollyCooLToday morning I wokeup to see this, :( I read the learn more part aside it. I don’t know why I got hit by this. It said, If you see very unusual votes being targeted at your account, don't worry about it. You should wait at least 24 hours after noticing before becoming concerned, as the aut...

@1,3-feeds well it looks like a user just upvoted several of your answers in a short time
@MollyCooL did you not notice any sudden spike in your rep on any given day? like, a +50 or a +60 from several different answers (especially old answers)?
13:43
No, mostly it would be on the same answer/question.
@GaurangTandon
I believe only a moderator - who have access to special reputation history patterns - can help you in that meta post, so you'll have to wait
Okay, Thank you.

@pentavalentcarbon Who is "they"?

@Zhe Google
> Iodo-oxides are stable owing to the greater polarity of the bond while in chlorine stability is due multiple bond formation involving d-orbitals. Bromine has none of the above-mentioned abilities and thus is least stable.
impressive
@pentavalentcarbon What does google need chemists for?
15:28
@AvnishKabaj the short answer is that I am not a chemist

@pentavalentcarbon Reasonable? Thesis is standard for related-ish PhD's and letter just asserts you're not a psychopath
16:27
@Zhe 57 percent of psychopaths are PhDs
With letters
@M.A.R.ಠ_ಠ <sup>[citation-needed]</sup>
@M.A.R.ಠ_ಠ yep, perfect, that'll do

2 hours later…

I think it’s pretty obvious I’m not a psychopath...maybe
18:45
...
whoa...
@pentavalentcarbon the fact that you have to say that

2 hours later…

@pentavalentcarbon um . . . Well, hehe . . . I, um, I don't know how to put this in a way . . . That . . . Um, wouldn't make you wanna kill me
Hello @caco
Welcome to our chat!
@caconyrn what brings you to these scary lands?
Full of boreaucrats and . . . Oh my goodness, Germans
I just thought I'd visit to see if something catches my eye; why is it supposed to be scary here?
The germans have their own chat too, where it often gravitates to beer in my experience
@caconyrn you mean German.SE?
Well, this chat is more German, trust me.

20:39
It's like Germans are born chemists and few of them reluctantly accept other jobs
@caconyrn is that one active anymore?
pH and Mart are MIA, and @Loong doesn't talk unless you summon him
not very apparently; i'm online too erratically to have noticed
> german chemists

I suppose the *Teerfarbenindustrie* (synthesized organic colors, is there an english name even?) kickstarted the chemistry thing?
Someone wanted to make better beer, obviously
21:02
What happens in this question-- I don't know where to start? :
The reagents look like hydrohalogenation might happen..

here it is:

Q: Temperature of pure oxygen combustion

PeterWhat is the temperature of pure oxygen being combusted? I was wondering about it.

@Rick my intuition says (1). Still have to justify it.
