Q: Why was homework badge deprecated?

Try HardThis is a meta question so please do not downvote - move as appropriate if possible, or I'll simply delete it if inappropriate. This site (like many in SE) gets peppered with non-optimal quality homework questions and for someone interested in looking through the questions quickly this is a pai...

Wow, chat is even deader then usually

:D
Now that is DEAD !

;)
^ This one usually gets a chuckle.
Now, I need to try to answer that meta post...
Thanks for giving me the links, haha

Zhe
I've generally preferred EDIC

@orthocresol Now MAR again ;)

7:25 PM
@Zhe wait, what is that an abbreviation of?

@orthocresol Meh, maybe reading some old discussions will do for this guy...

It won't take too long, it's alright

Zhe
Oh wait, DEAD is not used for that
Is it?

Ah, no, DEAD is for Mitsunobu reactions.

Zhe
DCC! I thought you were talking about DCC

:D
I've never had to do amide or ester couplings. But yeah, I know some people who used EDCI

Zhe
Mitsunobu
Yeah, the DCC derived byproduct is harder to remove.

@Zhe Huh, not if it's insoluble afaik

@Zhe You've set me off on another binge-watching-of-Star-Wars-videos-on-Youtube...

:D

@orthocresol Well, then my job here is done.
Credit goes to @Mithoron for complaining about it being dead i nhere
@Mithoron It's mostly insoluble
But it's a bit more tricky to get out of your organic layer

@Zhe Meh, forgot the details by now

Zhe
@Mithoron Probably better than me still :)
I haven't done lab chemistry in 8 years now

8:26 PM
@Zhe I'll be in your posiiton in 8 years' time...
Still doing a PhD, but no plans to go back to synthetic organic chemistry

Zhe
8:40 PM
@orthocresol Honestly, it's not a bad place to be...

Yeah. There's no shortage of organic chemists, anyway...
