@Gaurang I've closed some, and opened some others ;) What do you think about my arxiv implementation?
hello everyone.
So in my textbook there is molarity is defined as number of mol per Liter. I probably confused molarity with concentration or something while it's the same thing.
Hi and welcome!
Molarity is amount concentration, it's a somewhat older term for it.
The (word) formula is 'amount concentration = amount of substance / volume' or c=n/V
Please don't call the amount of substance as 'number of mol', this is very incorrect.
@AnonymousI You can also notify me when you write something, just in case I am not responding.
Ok, so I have to unknowns in that equation of diluted and concentrated. The concentration of diluted water and the volume of diluted water.
@AnonymousI There is no such thing as diluted water, water is your solvent, you cannot dilute it.
I am more concerned whether you have translated the question correctly.
The value in the end simply doesnt make any sense
oops, diluted solvent, is that correct? Here is the original question in my language:De molaire massa van zwavelzuur = 98,1 g/mol. Men heeft 100 mL van een 0,10 molaire zwavelzuuroplossing. Hoeveel mL water moeten we toevoegen om een oplossing te bekomen die 4,9 g/L zwavelzuur bevat?
Because you know german maybe you can understand the overall content of the question.

It worked fine the first time ;)
you actually only need three letters, like @ano should notify you ;)
okay... give me a sec to understnad
Hmmm yeah, you translated it alright -.-
@Martin-マーチン oh :P
let me have a look at it
I guess... at least I wouldn't have translated it otherwise
@GaurangTandon well inmplementation is said too much... let's use suggestion ;)
@Martin-マーチン woah dude that arXiv thing...you've basically described start to finish how it should be done, thanks for researching all of the details and saving my time in that :D
I'll try to do it by this Sunday
@AnonymousI I would interpret the question the following way: The target concentration is a mass concentration. goldbook.iupac.org/html/M/M03713.html

btw till then please have a look at #8 and #9 - i've implemented commits to fix them
@ma
that would make a lot of sense. It's been a while (3 years) since I used it.
Thank you very much.
@GaurangTandon If I had more time and a little experience, I would have tried implementing it myself. But you have what I lack, so now you have the pieces to translate it to code, glad I can help. Next stop: ChemRxiv chemrxiv.org/f/faqs
@AnonymousI I'm happy to help. I'll try to write up an answer, too. But that'll take a few minutes ;)
@Martin-マーチン sure :)
@AnonymousI You need 3 letters ;) so that did not work
That alignify issue is odd though :/ i'll work on commits by tomo
till then cya!
13:07
@mar lol, I forgot it because of the excitement that I finally know what the main problem was. :)
@mar I'm happy to accept your answer and upvote it. You should become a professor.
Haha, thanks. :D Maybe teacher would be more likely ;)
You're a post-doc right. If you apply to some university and they accept your invitation, can't you just immediately begin as a prof?
14:04
Unfortunately the process is much more tedious and involves a lot of politics. I'm a post-doc and would be happy with that, but I'm basically at an impasse here, and I am going to go for something more steady to earn my beans ;)
