there aren't any other chemists online. Only computational chemists...
:D

One reason I found this appealing is because it basically look like a liquid TARDIS
Specifically, it bears the concept of yielding space in something we traditionally thought there isn't much space and is quite crowded (a liquid)
Now 2 years later, there is a work on generalising this phenomenon to MOFs

Q: Is there a paper glue that is NOT dissolved by acetone?

SRMShort version of the question: I need a spray-on glue that will stick paper to wood that isn't dissolved by acetone. Long version: I am trying to glue paper on wood. It's a big sheet of paper and I need it stuck on throughout because then I cut the wood-with-paper-on-it into pieces with a laser...

Q: How can chlorine for ClO2?

MartianCactusDoesn't it have only have one bonding electron? Then how can it bond with 2 oxygens? The lewis structure doesn't make much sense to me..

Canning chlorine isn't an easy process and shouldn't be done at home

@M.A.R. It's easy, you just take NaCl put it in a can and seal it. Then add some magic and boom: chlorine in a can.

random question related to grad school applications again, i just want some opinions: what do you guys think about "Have you made any additional applications to the University of XYZ or any other institutions?"
most institutions say it does not impact the assessment of your application..so i should be alright skipping it? that's what I have been doing so far because a) i don't think it is relevant b) I am applying to quite a few places and listing 10-11 programs on each application becomes a pain

@Martin-マーチン I suggest adding sodium chlorate as well and the magic being some acid addition.
