Hi @Ravan Haha, don't worry. I actually do have Elementary on my netbook. I am afraid the rules for showing (or not) in the dock for GUI applications are the same as Unity. We can make a window's presence invisible (xdotool's unmap), but that would also hide the window itself :).

I used wmctrl -r "Untitled Document 1 - gedit" -b add,skip_taskbar

to skip to dock,...
