Hmmm... My comment was deleted on this question. Why? I know we don't allow answers as comments but this was more of a reading suggestion and also a remark on how this was going to be hard to answer within the scope of this site. I am a bit confused as to why this comment was deleted as I feel it was of value to the OP and potential answerers.

@Jordy We don't allow people to post answers in the comments. Comments can't be voted up/down, can't be edited, are hard to reference, are sorted higher than real answers and are not required to follow the same rules as other answers. People like to use them to evade the other rules.

This is a Stack Exchange wide rule, but the diligence varies between communities.

@Oddthinking, are we allowed to post suggested reading material in the comments for the OP/other people who might have time to formulate an actual answer?

@Jordy I guess, but the line between the two can get pretty blurred. When in doubt, comments are second-class objects on this site, and are subject to deletion.
