Primary objective: to see if old documents compile (and view) correctly. For some documents, \usepackage[compat]{forest} or \usepackage[compat=all]{forest}will be needed. See the changelog, section 6.1.
Secondary objective: get your feedback on the new stuff!
Really looking forward to your comments! ---If you know of anyone else who'd want to help, please do invite him/her.
Btw, I compatibility test was (a) compiling the old docs, and (b) going through all (yes, all, and no, not manually) forest code posted here.
Hello @SašoŽivanović It is nice to see that you want to test it here. I'll think of ways how to make this test room more visible to other TeX.SE users.
@yo' Thanks, please do! (I'm not very familiar with chats...) I've invited @cfr and @GonzaloMedina to the room, as they said (a long time ago) they'd be willing to help ... but the more the merrier!
@SašoŽivanović Great! I will definitely test this. Although if you've tested all of the code I've posted here, you've tested probably 95% of the stuff I've got on hand. Am very excited to get a chance to see what's new, too ;).
@cfr great! What I did here was download all examples and compile them with both v1.0 and v1.1. If it compiled with the former, I expected it to do so with the latter, too. (And they did!) Bottomline: there might've been some non-MWE examples that 've missed.
Hi @SašoŽivanović. Thanks for forest! I will definitely try to test out this new version with my old documents as well. Also, I was curious if there was any news on this pgf bug that you found?
@SašoŽivanović Oh, haha. Nevermind. :p I see that you commented on the issue about a week ago. :) So it was fixed?
