I agree - the fact that things like this are company and/or locale specific are not obvious, especially to inexperienced people (who IMO are the most likely to be looking for help here) and I think it would be useful for us to answer the question, buth for the asker and for any future inexperienced people who have the same question.

On the other hand, there are users here who appear to think that it's far more useful to everyone to not let anyone recieve an answer if there's any possible reason to close the question instead. I'm not sure why, but you don't have to watch the site for long to see it happening.

@J.Doe I have to agree on that one - the question "what's the standard" has the answer - "it's company specific" as opposed to the question "what's the notice period for my company's AGM" which has the closure reason "it's company specific"

the question had a couple of VTRO already so I've hammered it open
